5-6-7-8 We Are Going To Lose This Weight!

Hello Mamas!!!

Sorry I've been a tad busy lately with the Holidays. We officially have less than a week before we start our shred! If you haven't gotten your copy of the DVD yet, it's available at Walmart ($9), Comcast On Demand (free), or Amazon (about $10). You will also need to pick up a set of free weights (any kind will do- I'm using a set of 2, 3, & 5 lb. dumbbells). I do not recommend the kind that strap onto your wrist because you only use them during certain moves and you will need to be able to put them down and pick them up quickly.

As far as diet, I am going to be getting and following Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (thanks to AppleMomma for the rec!). Personally, I have a problem not eating enough which slows down my metabolism so I'm going to try to eat 4-6 times a day. I'm not going to drink anything other than water (BOY I'll miss my coffee!!!).

I've also updated the Roll Call page. If you have not submitted your information, I STRONGLY encourage it! It will give you a boost and will (hopefully) help motivate you. We have 50+ followers but less than 10 submissions! Come on ladies! Send me your info!!! The following info will need to be included in your submission (email to bumpshred@gmail.com):
  • Name
  • Bump Screen Name
  • Beginning Weight (pre-pregnancy &/or current)
  • Beginning Measurements (please see Roll Call page)
  • Motivation
  • Before Picture (optional)
The countdown has begun! Enjoy your last few days of eating, drinking, and being merry! I know I will!

I'm so not willing to part with my coffee. You are a strong woman.

Coffee is healthy to drink...as long as you don't add anything to it. Before getting pregnant, I drank it black. Since I had DD, I had to put milk and sugar in it to get me back into drinking it. Well since I can't have dairy b/c of DD, I dropped that. I guess my goal by Sunday will be to drop the sugar part. I don't think I could drop it altogether.

I think coffee actually speeds up your metabolism! I saw it on Dr. Oz. I'd research it so that you could at least get 1-2 cups in and not have to sacrifice a whole lot.

haha well for me i can't drink it in moderation... i drink a pot a day!!! it's better if i just cut it out all together.

Coffee isn't all bad it does help with removal of excess water and helps with your metabolism but when drinking coffee you need to have it without sugar and milk and you have to double up on your water intake!

Does anyone know if the recommended diet is ok to do while breastfeeding?

How did everyone's first day go!? I had some trouble with all the jumping jacks...I guess I need to be wearing my sports bra, but it was in the bedroom and my son was already sleeping, so I wouldn't dare go in to get it. I just wore my nursing bra and we all know how supportive those things are. Also, during the butt kick moves, I found that my stomach where my c-section incision is got a little sore...I think because of the flab bouncing up and down. (Great visual, or what?) Oh well, I'm sure it'll get easier as time goes on!
